Ask the Expert – Modeling Piezoelectric Devices in ANSYS Mechanical 13.0
Piezoelectrics is the linear coupling of structural and electric fields that occurs naturally in some crystalline materials and ceramics. Piezoelectric devices generate electrical potential in response to mechanical stress and mechanical strain in response to electrical potential and vice versa. Typical applications are sensors and actuators. A direct, two-way coupled-field simulation is required to accurately predict the behavior of piezoelectric devices. This webinar will explain how to model piezoelectric behavior in ANSYS Mechanical Release 13.0. It will begin with a short presentation.
