The Thermal Properties of Silicon Detectors Used in High Energy Physics
The heat characteristic of a cooling system for silicon sensors together with readout chips and other electronic components are investigated. These types of detectors are applied in high energy physics experiments [1,2]. In our simulations we make use of the 3D thermal-electric elements which provide the possibility to evaluate the thermal behavior of the silicon sensors after 10 years of operation in a radiation environment. Different options for the method of cooling are compared.
