Setting up a problem for CFD has three distinct steps - geometry creation or import, mesh creation and physical problem set-up. The flexibility of the ANSYS system can adapt easily to the preferred geometry and meshing solution of the user, whether it be existing capability, supplied by ANSYS CFX, or any combination of tools.
Two options are available for geometry creation:
The ANSYS Workbench-based Meshing Application gives access to the advancing front with inflation (AFI) meshing technology, swept meshing capability, patch-independent meshing, hex-dominant meshing, plus a number of others.
Physics pre-processing is efficiency is streamlined with the ANSYS CFX pre-processor. It offers a modern, consistent and intuitive interface for the definition of complex CFD problems.
