ANSYS provides functionality for large displacement motion simulation, such as ANSYS Rigid Dynamics. RecurDyn is complementary software. In some models, such as machinery with chain or belt systems, the combination of having many components with rigid and flexible components is most efficiently solved with RecurDyn. RecurDyn can import ANSYS modal outputs and mesh data in order to solve complex mechanisms. Load and displacement outputs from RecurDyn can be used to define boundary conditions for advanced structural models in ANSYS. RecurDyn is developed by FunctionBay.
